Facilitate small group discussions with adults with Aphasia and acquired communication disabilities who have difficulty speaking, reading, listening or writing as a result of stroke, brain injury or brain illness 
 
Learn and apply supportive communication techniques * with guidance and support from Speech-Language Pathologists and Communicative Disorders Assistants, volunteers provide clients with opportunities to engage in conversation and increase life participation  
Volunteers Support the Program in the following ways: Assist staff and clients during client arrival/departure, program set-up/clean-up and breaks * use a variety of supportive communication strategies to enhance group participation of clients * participate in program pre and post meetings with staff and volunteers * prepare and/or bring in materials and resources for the communication groups (minimum 30 minutes of non-program time per week)
