DutiesOne-on-one sighted assistance and companionship for a person who is blind or partially sighted * regularly visit a client in his/her home or other suitable environment at a mutually convenient time * read, walk, assist with errands or outings, and community visits * all outings are on foot, by public transportation or taxi * track and report volunteer hours as directed

TrainingOrientation - CNIB, the people we help, vision loss, and volunteering at CNIB ; Training is provided ; Training is required ; Scheduled training ; Training on the job ; Training on-going ; Full training about CNIB and sight loss, including sighted guide, will be provided * training specific to the position * including working as a Vision Mate and what to do when problems arise * Agree to abide by CNIB’s Volunteer Code of Conduct, including policies and procedures concerning confidentiality, conflict of interest, and the prevention of workplace harassment and violence.
TransportationDriver License required ; Car required ; Must have clean driving record * mileage is reimbursed as per the CNIB expenses policy
