DutiesIn many cases, when a woman is experiencing abuse, so are her pets. And the comfort those pets provide can help a woman and her children survive their journey. Although shelters do their best to be flexible when possible, for a variety of reasons they are not always able to take in the pets of women requesting beds. The SF/SP-D program is run by two women's shelters in Durham.
